apart from Juergen nearly having a punch up on the touchlinewith arsetita ... it took a while fro the REdS at Anfield to shake off the wham defeat
and their national team tours ... we recommended to bench/rest Hendo although Juergen went for the mature CB partners of VVD / Matip..
(perhaps JK wants to get as many games with Matip, in case of another injury) MANe , who was defo UP FOR this, ("aggressive mode") for his average height, has scored a lot of goals
the away side had a couple of periods when they looked a threat , but mostly OUR lads looked sure to win this ... with TRENT probably MotM assisting
(free kick) MANe and Tako goals...
maybe the arse nal defenders wanted to get on the "assist list" as they tried to play out of defence in "suicide fashion" gifting DioGO ..for our 2nd goal
MANe made a run after good work from Kostas to lay on yet another MO goal...
and Tako finished of the Londoners with his first touch...

a) I warned of risk of complacency when our TEAM in white shirts & black shorts (close to the classic away style)
battered the mancs in 60 minutes at 0-5 up relaxed played keep - ball.. Ronni MORAN would go berserk..
nt because its important to get an "all time record win" at old toilet ..but because it breeds bad habits
..IMO the TEAM has sufered when momentum is broken, by national districtions, injury crisis (of course)
and strangely "away breaks~ (and of course the PLANdemic..) ... this CLUB has a SPIRIT and that must be fed at all times..
b) also warned JK of this CB rotation...obviously after last season its a sore point , and one JK & the coaching staff want to avoid,,
BUT ... as I have said a tousand times... the defensive unit is at its best when its the same players week in/week out,
ok to change for the occasional cup game... but main / regular european / league games should stay the same unit...
I also noted that that impressive debut of "KonG", was anyway sucked out of position (as was Matip in previous games)
if we want to be the best..i would go for Joe & VVD (who have had the best understanding over time)
the game v brighton was the 4th draw in the league, 10 games in... I prefer us to win the 7th in europe but..
at Atleti, at brentford, v Milan, and now v brighton //2 & 3 goals shipped ...is not helped, i know by injuries to midfielders..
(the emphasis switched to midfield this season) Fab hopefully back and IF Thiago is fit i would play him v atleti

Naby injured & Curtis for me are attractive forward palyers but defensively i want Ox to up his game and deserve the start..
the plkayer i want to see supported by Juergen is MANe ..he is as GOOD as Mo but Mo is getting the fame for scoring great goals and being in probably best ever form...
LIVERPOOL need just to see this game through to secure qualification but atleti are a difficult side so must be "prepared"

the watford players hardly had more than moments on the ball, it was more like a friendly or training game of keep-ball..
the REDS kept possesion & pressure constantly... the goals were inevitable... watford looked like a side from lower than Div 1,
that may be down to our TEAM but Ranieri will need more than a late rally which saw them HAVE THEIR FIRST SHOT AT Kells ..
after 61 mins.. ...
an excellent pass by Mo with the outside of his foot arrived perfectly at the edge of the pen area for Sadio to slot in first time..
after only 8 mins... could & maybe should have been 0-3 or 4 before possibly the best move ..with Milly making a wall pass with Bobby
then to Mane ..who give it back to Milly who had raced to the wing ..who crossed it in across the 6 yard box to Bobys foot instep...Goal!
Bobby slotted home again after Robbo s fine pass almost found Mo, but the ball was diverted into Bobby;s path.... 0-3 ..
..............then Mo took the ball on the edge and just as he did v the blue mancs last time out.. took on the whole defence
wriggled through 5 defenders and curled the ball with his left into the watford net ..sublime !!! !! 0-4 ..
.............Trent, Robbo both subbed around the hour mark, with my MotM Milly dropping into the role of Trent (right wing half!)
at35 Milly shows the stupid fan nies who want to sell players who reach 29 ...that fitnes in spirit , mind & body can extend your involvement , competing with players almost half your age..!!
Neco came on for the last 10 mins and still managed to make the 3rd for Bobby;s hat-trick 0-5 ...a fine run by Neco , beating a defender just inside the box and placing an accurate pass for Bobby yo slot home.. well done! a fine performance , although the opponents
will struggle to stay in the league...

Milly brings some steel to the defence , and as Trent (who suffered
a bit at brent as they overloaded his far post pisition twice
with not enough support from CB Matip , IMO...another reason
(and because of Pace) I go for VVd & Joe.. I do NOT want joe to
play full back, (wing half) for me its a waste of a player who may
in time (and no more major injuries) eclips VVD!..
and I want to see Milly dump raheem on his arese a couple of times
early on, Sterling has had too much to say in the last couple of games against the blue manc sh&te!
Curtis, with 3 assists & a lot of the ball was arguably MotM in Oporto
... should keep the understanding with Hendo & Fab, as he seems to have
taken the lead in the challenge to be the 3rd regular midfielder
alongside Fab & Hendo,
Mo & Mane obviously , both coming into best form...? but the
"false or not Nine" is a difficult choice as both Bobby & DioGO
bring value to theTeam... however Bobby just shades it...because;
Luck was on his side against Porto, twice, whereas DiOGO last night
and at Brent seemed UNlucky, and i feel that Jota may be hungrier
off the bench after 60 mins and cause the mancs more problems as an
impact sub!
(in which case I might put on Kostas for Robbo, as the lad seems to have a magical connection to DioGO!
I moan at Juergen about lat subs,, its difficult for OX, or Tako
to challenge , if they are thown on with 20 mins or less, FFS give them
30 minutes ..at least , (how many times have we said this?) this my main criticism of late (and sometimes false subs) and rotating CBs I would NOT do unless due to injury or lack of form. (IMO Matip , although has been in good form during the opening games, and adds something to midfield, was at fault at Brent .. this game v the blue mancs is (IMO) MUST be for Joe & VVD to counter pace of opponents attack!

and after an exacting game 3-3 at Brentwood the REdS have the trip
(again) to Porto , we AGAIN face in this competition, they must be sick of the site of our TEAM!
I was there when Rafa s RedS got a vital away point on the road
to another final, and although the REdS have had great resuls..
I would take a point, as it could be as a big a mistake to under-rate
this club who will have as fervent support as brentford did saturday evening ..
In that game 3 things stood out for me..
* AS we have stated several times , since Jk started coaching the TEAM ..since he also played CB .. that JK rotated the defesive unit far too often (even before last years FUBAR season)... for me probably all three goals might have been better defended by Matip (and yo a lesser extent VVD) certainly twice he left Trent to defend 3 big brent players at the far post ; 2 of the 3 goals...
and if his staff had studied them
were they not prepared for their GK to chip long pases behind our "high line" ?? if so I would have selected "KonG"(Konate) with his pace and his strength against the physical aspects of the brent forward & their other attacking players ??? and AB must come out to clear high balls into the 6 yard box, this could have cut out 2 of the conceded goals..!
* Curtis put in a decent shift and late on with his powerful shot put
the TEAM 2-3 UP.. but we opted in our (proposed!) pre match selection
to have Milly in midfield (if fit?) .. to give extra defensive cover
\* and perhaps stop the balls that came into our pemarea from their right?
leading to all 3 goals..?
REdS in Yellow scored 3 good goals; (DioGO with a great header from Hendo's cross, Mo his 100th for LIVERPOOL from a superb pass from Fab &
Curtis screamer! should have won the game ..but credit to brents lads fighting back..
*Mo at his best with the 100th but again the foward/midfield players
should have scored more .. a big miss that would have made it 2-4 !
and as Robbo is not yet at his best , i would give Kostas & Diogo
a game from the bench at half time (5 subs jn Europe>>?)
So I would start with Bobby ..give him a half...then use Jota as
a sharp front man with Mo as a twin strike force late on with MANe running at them .. and I feel AB could also do with a rest , Kells deserves more than an occasional cup game.. as does Tako... so I propose for the away game at Porto ..

The atmosphere at Elland road was electric , like a cup tie.. and was end to end, until Mo scored... after about 20 mins
then apart from a couple of purple patches from the home side, the REdS dominated... MANe put in a GREAT affort , and
before he scored his 99th goal for LIVERPOOL, might (with a bit more luck, run of the ball and sharper chard?ontrol had at least a hat trick
(its often that way when aiming at a special goalscoring target) ... trying TOO HARD???
Matip is in good form, although we wanted to give Joe a run out , and rumours of VVD carrying a knock from the NL game seemed not to be hindering him
although one time I thought he let a leeds long ball bounce instead of heading it back to AB.. an got knocked over by Bamford..
Robbo played deeper than usual (we also wanted Kostas to give him a rest before the big game v Milan, as OUR PRIORITY is EUROPE (and number 7
in St Petersburg (former name?) ...
Fab (one of the Brazilians that might have been blocked from playing) did more than his usual job of protecting the defence,, scored
from a Trent corner, who also looks to be in top form... and Trent also assisted Mo's 100th league goal. (his scoring record/rate for LIVERPOOL is better of course!)
Thiago did a job (a la Gini) for an hour, looked a bit jaded late on, and might have got hooked had the young Harve getting VERY badly injured!
Hendo also looked a bit rusted for the last half hour, although he helped create Sadios goal...
DioGO was industrious, and was unlucky with a couple of chances, (one of which was brilliantly created by Mo!)
I felt for OX, its really not a FAIR chance to throw him (or any player worth his place) on for 10 or 15 mins
(especially in such a game) unless he & Naby are being lined up for wednesday ..we also think it was tough on Kells
(who was expected to start because of the FIFA fiasco )
Therefore we propose the Selection we suggested for this last game for wednesday, but with Naby coming in for Thiago
