Cardiff v LIVERPOOL League Cup final
REdS won 2-3 on pens………..
"Cardiff 's goal, their only shot on target in the first half
was a reminder of the absence of Lucas, whose game would have been to shut down
the passer, & Jose was late getting across to mark the scorer, but despite
that the team in blue (and we never lose to those in finals) defended well,
although we had 2 claims for penalties..it seems like a home game, the REdS
dominating possession, for most of the game, Glenn hitting the crossbar early
(if that had gone it….)
numerous corners and shots numbering more than 30, I
said before the game that finals are often won by defenders and Martin Skrtel
("Mr Spock of star Trek"'s son?) almost proved me right with a goal
and a couple of good shots too, and I told the lass sitting next to me when she
complained that Dirk wasn’t playing that Kuyt would probably score the winner
late on, and he nearly did (again!) …but those that "bet" should have
remembered how LFc like to win the hard way, the last 2 times we have won
finals (European Champions 05 & FA Cup 06) we have won on penalties…
And so it was..ironic that supreme pen-taker Stevie missed the first
and his cousin missed the last
… I felt reasonably confident with Pepe in goal,
lets hope we can go all the way, to the FU Cup final…;)"
so many images that describe feelings of being a TRUE REd!
